ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS

"This year, from Father Christmas,' says The TT, 'I would like a pony, a pink palace full of rubies and diamonds and pearls and treasure and a pink garden with loads of flowers: silver and gold flowers, bell flowers, sunflowers.'

'Oh,' I say, 'anything else?'

'A fan.'

At least she's given me three months to figure out either how to manage her expectations or discover how to come up with the goods without first winning Euromillions.

Mine play Santa at bath time with the bubble foam and I shamelessly prime them for months so they ask for exactly what I think they need.
They're sweetly mystified when the answer to 'What do you want for Christmas Mummy?' varies from 'Nothing, i have everything I've ever wanted my petals' to 'a day off' to 'six years of my life back' depending on how the week has gone....

You could always try to sweet talk Elton John into letting you visit his shed for an hour?

Is the tiniest T young enough for a doll's house?

You could add pink and red and pearl and diamanté stick on jewels and a wee treasure chest to a castle one, and make a garden for it with gold and silver flowers? and you know, go the whole hog and put a sparkly My Little Pony in the garden?

I might be taking this too literally. Working with children does this.

Lisa-Marie - you are an absolute GENIUS. Right, I'm off to look on e-bay. THANK YOU.

Think I might be pinching Lisa-Marie's (and now technically your) idea too!

I do admire a girl who plans ahead. The awful thing is that I quite want a pony for Christmas too. :)

Lisa-Marie, that is a fab idea! I'm sure the TT will love it, and I'm sure Mrs Trefusis will enjoy making it :)
